Kwikwetlem Social Development Program
Kwikwetlem's Band Social Development Worker is Rose Finney. She co-ordinates the Social Development Programs for the on-reserve community members. Rose delivers Indian & Northern Affairs Canada's Policy & Procedures for the following programs: Social Assistance, Homemaker Services Program, National Child Benefits (NCB), and Training Employment Skills Initiative (TESI). All the programs for Social Development community based on-reserve.
1. Social assistance and information with regard to on-reserve financial assistance;
2. Manages the on-reserve Adult In-Home Care program that provides light housekeeping, shopping, and support for elders and sick or disabled persons in the community. No medical or personal contact allowed;
3. Provide information and act as advocate for both on and off-reserve
4. Manages the on-reserve NCB Program which provides support in meeting children's needs, and makes contributions to on-reserve programs that benefit children's lives;
5. Manages the on-reserve TESI Program that provides opportunities and skills for future employment or higher education to the Kwikwetlem social assistance recipients;
6. Makes referrals for counselling services: Employment
7. Will fax or e-mail resumes' for Kwikwetlem members to possible employers.
