Elections

The Kwikwetlem First Nation leadership is comprised of an elected Chief and two elected Councillors. The Nation operates under a Custom Election Code  that outlines the election process, as well as the key governing responsibilities of council members. 

Policy Development 

The Nation has also implemented a number of policies to ensure good governance. Some policies currently being developed by the Nation include: 

• Code of Ethics for Council, 
• Code of Ethics for Staff,
• Bylaw Development Policy,
• Risk Management Policy, and 
• Community Engagement and Involvement Policy. 

Bylaws

Kwikwetlem First Nation has developed bylaws to ensure positive use of the Nation's land. Bylaws include: 

• Trespassing bylaw ,
• Unsightly Premises bylaw ,
• Animal Control bylaw , and
• Nuisance bylaw .
