Finance collaborates and supports all departments to ensure that proper accounting practices are followed in the daily management of our activities and that we follow the policies of the First Nations Financial Transparency Act (FNTA).
The FNTA requires that First Nations make their audited consolidated financial statements and a Schedule of Remuneration and Expenses of Chief and Council available to kʷikʷəƛ̓əm m̀əlstéyəxw (members) as well as publish them on our website for a period of ten years. The kʷikʷəƛ̓əm First Nation provides an audited financial statement based on the fiscal year reporting structure (April 1 - March 31) and reports to kʷikʷəƛ̓əm m̀əlstéyəxw on its financial activities during our Annual General Meeting held in April and Information Session in the fall.
